“Sediments” Exhibition whith Kun Zhang
“Sedimente”
As part of the “Kunst-Loose-Tage” this small fine exhibition is taking place in my studio. I met my guest artist Kun Zhang at the MKG fair in Hamburg. I was immediately drawn to Kun Zhang’s minimalism, precision and design language.
I’m happy to have Kun as a guest artist. And I look forward to being able to present her objects in my rather morbid studio building in a richly contrasting and powerfull way.

“For a long time, I referred my work to symbols and forms of Chinese culture. However, since always the question arose for me, how forms come into being at all. Therefore, I began to detach myself from the apparently Cixed symbols and connotations; to deal with the pure form itself. This process was always accompanied by the question of where my own formal language comes from.
Working in this way initially offers seemingly endless possibilities that need to be resorted and reexamined. This process has enabled me to redeCine my formal language. The resulting forms are now for me the expression of my personal perception and have been increasingly deCined based on largely unconscious possibilities of interpretation.
Each piece is predicated on my cultural experiences and the environment in which it is created. It can therefore only be as it is at this moment. My work represents me in my here and now.
The viewers of the pieces may have a different perception and perhaps a different cultural background, but in looking at the forms, the commonality of being human in all cultures is represented.”
